How it works

After calculating cartons per pallet, CargoKit compares actual cargo volume to maximum pallet volume to show utilisation percentage.

Formula

Utilization = (carton volume × cartons) ÷ (pallet L × pallet W × max height) × 100

Worked example

Cargo: 1.944 m³. Pallet capacity: 1.219 × 1.016 × 1.981 = 2.454 m³. Utilisation: 79.2%.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good pallet utilization rate?

Typically 70–90% is considered good. Below 60% usually means there is room to improve carton sizing or stacking pattern.
